getting in the spirit

it's not about the size of the tree, it's about the smell

i had the pleasure of spending thanksgiving with brian’s family out in snohomish, wa this year, and goodness, what a great group of people.  his sister and brother-in-law live in this fantastic log cabin and always host a great party.  having a grand piano, drum set, guitar, vocalist, and bongo drums in the house lends itself to some very talented (and striving to be) people making great live music.  what comes with music?  dancing.   although i don’t have a great voice, my love for music and singing will always remain.

squash gratin with poblanos and cream

we were in charge of some vegetable sides to bring to the meal so i was inspired to make this recipe along with the famous brussels sprouts.  both divine.

we capped off the weekend seeing the nutcracker with brian’s parents and dinner at ray’s boathouse cafe for one of the best views while eating seafood seattle has to offer.

cheers to the holidays!
